We have been to Jasmine Market twice in a month now, and it's become our new favorite weekend stop. The roomy outdoor patio is so comfortable, accessible, and shaded no matter what the weather. The food is absolutely delicious; especially recommend the Asone Thoke (I think I got the name spelled right), a warm noodle salad that's bright, spicy, and light. Parking is in back, down the alley (we had a little trouble finding it the first time).

My go to spot for home style Burmese cuisine. Shrimp Curry and Mohinga are my favorites here. They are the best in LA!!

it's been awhile since I came here. Decided to stop by with my sister for lunch on a Friday afternoon. There's a few covered tables outside (heat lamps too) and a few smaller tables inside. You order at the counter. There's also a selection of packaged goods and groceries inside. We got the mohinga, ohn no kau swe (coconut chicken noodle soup), fish cake salad (it's B9 on the menu posted on the window of the restaurant, but not the menus inside, fyi), and chicken samosas. Everything was delicious. The samosas were piping hot and juicy (it's an order of 4). Both noodle soups were so good. My mom's mohinga cannot be beat, but this hits the spot when I have a craving. I would order everything again. And try their naan (table next to us had it and it looked really good) and thoke. I've had their biryani in the past - also good - but I like noodles more than rice. Bathroom inside in the back, and metered parking available on Sepulveda.

Such a fabulous little market on Jasmine Avenue. Just south of Culver Boulevard. If you blink you miss it. Plenty of free street parking, but check the signs as it is restricted on certain days. The market offers a variety of wine, beer, soft drinks, full deli, including sandwiches, and salads. They have cookies, fruit, all kinds of things. It's so great to have this neighborhood market and if you keep walking to the back, you'll see a lovely patio where you can eat your food or order a pizza from Drew

I remember trying this several years ago but it didn't leave an impact but perhaps I didn't order the right thing. I just recently tried it again and ordered delivery and I have to say, it's a great start to authentic Burmese cuisine. Growing up eating this, I'm very critical when it comes to the authenticity of Burmese food and I haven't found a really good place in the local LA area. Most of the really good ones are far out of LA. So I'm glad you can get really good Burmese cuisine here that's closer to LA. Their mohinga was really good and I like that the fish chowder is thick. Most places I've tried it's diluted but here, the consistency is just how it's supposed to be. Tip: it's best if you eat it within an hour otherwise the noodles will soak up the soup and the fish chowder soup is the best part. I also loved their chicken curry because it's really authentic in terms of the curry. The curry I grew up eating was just like this and it's supposed to be red oily curry with some pasty bits. Other places don't do it like this so I'm glad this was how it's supposed to be. I also tried their nan gyi thote. I used to love eating this when I was young so definitely felt nostalgic. I like this version because it's saucy and a little sweet plus you can pour as little or as much sauce as you you need. The tea leaf salad was also really good but it has lettuce and traditionally, I didn't grow up eating it with lettuce. For some reason, some places in America put lettuce in here. But I like that this place gives me more tea leaf than others as I usually mostly just want to eat the tea leaf itself. Tip: it's best if you eat it within a few hours once all the oils/sauce is mixed otherwise it won't taste as fresh. I also got the side of balachaung which is like a shrimp relish. It's not the spicy version but it was still good, crunchy and fresh. The Burmese tea (chai) was also really good, I miss drinking that. It's not too sweet which gives it a nice refreshing balance. Overall, this place had a pretty authentic taste, it's a little market with minimal seating but it was a cute little spot.

I don't know how I haven't written a review for this place yet as I've ordered from here so many times. Jasmine Market is a stalwart for Burmese cuisine on the west side. It's a long-established and popular Burmese market and eatery, and I've been here to eat and ordered delivery a lot of times. I'm ethnically Burmese and grew up eating Burmese food. Because of that, I know that Burmese food is often an acquired taste, and sometimes Burmese restaurants westernize or dull their traditional flavors in order to achieve mass appeal. However, Jasmine Market is not one of those restaurants. I can try anything on the menu and confidently say that the tastes aren't watered down. Everything is just as pungent, oily and flavorsome as the home-cooked Burmese food I ate in my childhood, aside from the tea leaf salad which contains lettuce. The ambiance here is simple and casual. The interior contains a small grocery section with no seating. Their only seating is outdoors, with no heaters. It's a really casual place that would suit for a quick lunch if you're looking to eat here. Service is always friendly and prompt. I'd highly recommend Jasmine Market if you love or are curious about trying Burmese cuisine. You won't be disappointed.

I've not had Burmese food, and it was a surprise to discover a restaurant that served it! I ordered delivery, and it came quick, and I was soon ready to dig in. I got Mandalar fried rice, which was so flavorful and addicting: I would order dozens of those! The tea leaf salad was pungent, but refreshing, and I appreciated the fried bits of nuts, crisps, and shrimp in it. The khau swe thoke (noodle salad) was spicy, but the noodles tender and chewy. Overall, definitely a new experience with new flavors I hadn't tried before. But I'm happy to have tried it at Jasmine Market and Deli, as the food is made well and from the heart!

Seen this restaurant on Yelp and had to try it based off of all the amazing reviews. This definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered takeout. This restaurant is not too far from me so I decided to pick it up. The food came out quickly and everyone in the restaurant was so pleasant and nice. -10/10 for service! While the restaurant is small, it's very inviting and you can tell the owners really care about the restaurant and the space. I personally really Love the outdoor space that was very inviting with the plants around. For food, I ordered the Chicken Biryani. The picture I took does the food no Justice in the amount of food given and the flavor that is packed into it. The chicken was so tender and I could tell it had been marinated in spices. The rice with it was just amazing. The portion is so big that I definitely have leftovers for tomorrow. Will be back to try something new!
